Season of Giving

In celebration of the season of giving, Club Auto Sport opens its doors to charitable donations to two worthy local organizations.

When can you make donations?

Between November 1st and December 15th, Club Auto Sport will provide barrels to collect non-perishable food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank and boxes for donations of new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots (organized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve), which both serve the local community.

If you’d like to make a food or toy donation, stop by Monday through Friday between 8:30 PM and 5:30 PM. We have barrels and boxes ready for your donations in the Clubhouse!

Also, if you’re hosting or attending an event here at Club Auto Sport and would like to contribute, please bring your donations with you to your event and our Event Managers would be happy to accept them.

What can you donate?

Toys for Tots is accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys as well as monetary donations, which can be made on their website: Toys for Tots

The Second Harvest Food Bank is accepting monetary donations on their website (Second Harvest Food Bank) and the following nutritious, non-perishable food items:

  • Meals in a can (soup, stew, chili)
  • Canned tuna, chicken or salmon
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned foods with pop-top lids
  • Canned fruit in its own juice or water
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables
  • Olive or canola oil
  • Spices (cinnamon, chili powder, cumin, salt-free spice blends)
  • Low-sugar whole grain cereals
  • Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit)
  • Please AVOID glass items, candy, and sugar-sweetened drinks like soft drinks.

How will your contributions affect the community?

From the Toys for Tots website, “The Marine Toys for Tots Program collected and distributed 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children in this past year allowing them to experience the joy of Christmas and receive a message of hope that otherwise would not have been there. This community action program took place in 792 communities covering all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.”

From the Second Harvest Food Bank website, “In fiscal year 2017 (July 2016 – June 2017), we distributed more than one million pounds of nutritious food each week to low-income people in need in every zip code of our service area from Daly City to Gilroy, and from the ocean to the bay.”

We hope to see you and your generous, thoughtful donations this holiday season!
