Black Witch Cocktail

Black Witch Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces vodka
  • 4 ounces parfait amour liqueur
  • 1 ounce blackberry liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce lavender syrup
  • 4 lavender sprigs
  • 8 blackberries
  • dry ice (optional)
  • purple sanding sugar (optional)
  • 2 ounces tarragon simple syrup
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 sprigs fresh tarragon

Makes 4 cocktails

Directions

  1. Start by preparing the tarragon simple syrup. Pour the sugar and water into a small saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until it reaches a low boil. Add the tarragon and reduce heat to low for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the tarragon and allow syrup to cool.
  2. Next, prepare the garnish. Using a toothpick, make a small hole down the center of the blackberries. Push a lavender sprig through 2 blackberries to make 4 garnishes for the cocktails.
  3. Pour the vodka, liqueurs, syrups, and juice into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for about 20 seconds until nice and cold.
  4. For a sugared rim, moisten the rim of the glasses with water or juice and dip into sanding sugar. Pour the cocktail mixture into glasses, place a small piece of dry ice (optional), and garnish with the blackberry-lavender skewer for a ghoulish, smoky cocktail! Note: The drink is safe to consume once the dry ice has dissolved completely.

Mummy Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1-8 ounce tube of crescent rolls
  • Yellow mustard (for decorating)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Makes 8-10 servings

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, and egg and season generously with salt and pepper. Mix ingredients with a wooden spoon until well combined, then shape into 1″ balls. Place on a baking sheet.
  3. Roll out crescent roll dough into a sheet, then slice into two pieces down the width. Then cut the dough into long, thin strips. Wrap a piece of dough around the meatballs to resemble a mummy, leaving a space along the front of the meatball for mustard eyes.
  4. Bake meatballs until they are cooked through and dough is golden, about 15 minutes. Use foil to cover the meatballs if the dough starts to darken too quickly.
  5. When they’re fully cooked, add two mustard dots for eyes and place on a platter to share!
